The Real Keeps Its Gains, iExec Goes Vertical, The Sandbox Loses Altitude
Three theoretical setups for October 6: the Brazilian real after its post-election breakout below 5 per dollar, iExec's RLC after a 100% day, and The Sandbox's fading gaming rally.
USD/BRL · US Dollar / Brazilian Real — Bearish, Swing (1-4 weeks). USD/BRL fell 3.44% on October 5 to 5.0338 on Binance's USDT/BRL market, the real's strongest close since June 2, after touching 4.99 intraday — the first trade below 5.00 since May 22. Volume was about $653 million, double its 30-day average, and the move coincided with the Ibovespa's 7.7% rally to a record and a 12.5% jump in the iShares Brazil ETF. Theoretically, the trend favours a stronger real while daily closes stay below 5.17, the level the pair held before Monday's Brazilian session began; a close above it would invalidate the setup. The 2026 low of 4.8766 from May 6 is the next reference below. The main risk is scheduled: Brazil's presidential runoff on October 25 is a binary event that could extend or reverse Monday's move in a single session, so position size matters more than the stop.
RLC/USD · iExec RLC — Neutral, Short-term (days). RLC rose 99.67% on October 5 to $0.7276 on about 93 times its 30-day average volume, then jumped 20% in the 05:00 UTC hour on October 6 to $0.92, its highest price since November 9, 2025. The momentum is undeniable, but so is the stretch: the token has more than tripled since its July 29 low of $0.243, and similar runs this month in Moonriver, Gitcoin and The Sandbox were followed by pullbacks of 25% to 50%. Theoretically, the trend remains intact while RLC holds above $0.6759, Tuesday's early low, and a daily close below it would point to a deeper retracement toward Monday's mid-session levels near $0.55. A daily close above $0.92 would extend the move, but chasing a token at this distance from its average carries poor risk/reward, so we stay neutral and watch the $0.6759-$0.92 range.
SAND/USD · The Sandbox — Bearish, Short-term (days). SAND fell 8.36% on October 5 to $0.06981 and was trading near $0.0657 early on October 6, about 22% below its October 3 peak of $0.08396 and below Monday's intraday low of $0.06629. Daily volume has dropped from $63.5 million on October 2 to $18.4 million on October 5, and second-wave gaming tokens such as AXS and BEAMX are fading as well, while speculative flows have moved to tokens such as RLC and RAD. Theoretically, the path of least resistance is lower while daily closes stay below $0.07618, the October 4 close; a close above it would invalidate the setup. The $0.059-$0.062 zone, where SAND found support on the afternoon of October 2, is the first reference below. SAND is still roughly double its mid-September level, so a sharp sector rebound is a real risk.
