LayerZero Clears $2, Bitcoin Coils Inside Friday's Range, the Peso Keeps Sliding
Three theoretical setups for October 4: LayerZero's second, stronger test of $2, bitcoin's inside day after a volatile Friday, and a dollar that has risen in nine of ten sessions against the Mexican peso.
ZRO/USD · LayerZero — Bullish, Short-term (days). ZRO closed October 3 at $1.993, up 14.2%, after trading as high as $2.146 — its highest close since April 13 — on $36.4 million of Binance volume, the most since February 12. The breakout came one day after a failed attempt at $2.003 that dropped to $1.725, and the second test drew far more volume than the first. The token has doubled since September 15. Theoretically, the bullish view holds while daily closes stay at or above roughly $2, with this year's February 11 high of $2.59 as the next reference. A daily close below $1.86, where Saturday's breakout gathered pace, would suggest the move is failing and invalidate the setup. After a 2.8-fold rise from the July low, pullbacks can be sharp, so sizing should account for a wide stop.
BTC/USD · Bitcoin — Neutral, Short-term (days). Bitcoin printed an inside day and an NR7 on October 3: a 0.69% range between $84,456.02 and $85,037.63, the narrowest since September 12, entirely within Friday's $83,888-$87,220 candle, on the lowest volume since September 13. Compressions like this usually precede larger moves but say nothing about direction. Theoretically, a daily close above $85,038 would point toward a retest of Friday's high and the $87,400 ceiling, while a close below $84,456 would point toward $83,888 and the range floor at $82,563. The last inside day, on September 26, broke upward first and then reversed downward, so waiting for a daily close rather than reacting to the first intraday break is the more conservative approach. Until one side gives way, there is no edge.
USD/MXN · US Dollar / Mexican Peso — Bullish, Swing (1-4 weeks). The dollar has risen against the peso in nine of the ten sessions from September 22 to October 1, taking Binance's USDT/MXN from 17.21 to a close of 18.30 — the peso's weakest since December 3, 2025, and above the pair's 2025 close of 18.10 — after an intraday high of 18.38. The move is part of broader dollar strength, but the peso has weakened more than the euro, the rand or the Colombian peso since mid-September. Theoretically, the trend favours further dollar strength while daily closes hold above 17.90, where dips stalled on September 30 and October 1; a close below that level would invalidate the setup. A daily close above 18.38 would confirm continuation. This market is thin compared with the interbank pair, so weekend and off-hours candles should be treated with caution.
