Gold Slips Out of Its Range, The Graph Looks Stretched, Bitcoin Stays Boxed In

Monday's read after a broad early sell-off: tokenized gold has broken the floor we flagged last week, GRT's vertical Sunday is already unwinding, and Bitcoin is still sitting in the middle of its one-month range.

GLD · Gold (via tokenized gold, PAXG) — Bearish, Swing (1-4 weeks). Last week we moved gold to neutral and named a decisive break below the September 16 low of $4,230 as the bearish trigger. PAXG went through it in the first hours of Monday, falling below $4,200, its lowest since August 5. Combined with a month of lower highs — $4,689 on August 25, $4,512 on September 3, $4,398 on September 18 — the structure theoretically now describes a downtrend rather than a range. Caveat: the break came in thin early-Monday trading, so a daily close below $4,230 is the confirmation that matters. A recovery above $4,310, last week's high, would invalidate this view.

GRT/USD · The Graph — Bearish, Short-term (days). GRT more than doubled from its September 16 low and added 30% on Sunday alone, on a market that normally trades under $1 million a day, then fell about 15% from its high within five hours. A near-vertical final leg followed immediately by a sharp reversal theoretically fits a short-term exhaustion pattern. The first level to watch is Monday's low near $0.0314; below it, the next obvious reference is Sunday's opening price around $0.0276. Risk: a book this thin can squeeze violently in either direction, and a move back above $0.0367 would invalidate the bearish read.

BTC/USD · Bitcoin — Neutral, Swing (1-4 weeks). At about $83,200, Bitcoin sits near the middle of the $74,970-$87,400 range it has held for a month. It lagged on the way up last week, gaining about 4% while the median large coin rose about 12%, and it is falling less than most this morning, down roughly 1.5% against a median of 3.6% — the typical behaviour of the market's lower-beta anchor. Theoretically there's no edge in the middle of a range: a daily close above $87,400 would open the upside, while a close below the September 24 low near $82,900 would point toward the lower half of the range.
