Uniswap Hits $10.94, Then Turns Within Twelve Hours (September 2026)
On September 22-23, 2026, UNI broke above $10 for the first time that month, touched $10.94, then lost about 17% in half a day. Relive the peak and the reversal fifteen minutes at a time.
Uniswap, the largest decentralized exchange, had already had an extraordinary September: its UNI token had gone from $5.23 at the start of the month to nearly $9 after a run on September 17-18. On September 22 came another acceleration. In the UTC afternoon price rose from about $8.70 to $9.74, and in the evening it surged again, closing the day at $10.226, up 13.7% on about $207 million of volume.
In the first hours of September 23 UNI extended the move to $10.942, more than double its price at the start of the month. Then the direction flipped. Through the European and US morning the token fell without meaningful pauses, to a low of $9.033 in the afternoon — about 17% below the peak in roughly twelve hours. The day closed at $9.242, down 9.6%, on about $195 million of volume, nearly as much as on the day of the rise.
A large green candle followed immediately by a large red one on similar volume is one of the most legible signatures of exhaustion: whoever bought the break above $10 was underwater within hours. UNI then swung between roughly $9.15 and $9.70 for several days, before another 9% drop on September 28, and closed the month at $8.88, about 19% below the high. On the 15-minute chart you can follow the exact moment the buying ran out.
