Starknet's Two-Day Climb: STRK Rallies, Fades, Then Breaks to a Nine-Month High (October 2026)
Starknet's STRK rose 30% intraday on October 8, 2026, gave back half of it, then rallied again overnight to $0.0716, its highest price since January. Relive a rally that survived a crypto-wide selloff.
Starknet is a layer-2 network for Ethereum: it processes transactions off the main chain and posts compact cryptographic proofs, known as STARKs, back to Ethereum, making transactions much cheaper. Its STRK token has had a difficult history, weighed down by large scheduled token unlocks, and in early October 2026 it was trading around $0.049, far below its early-2026 levels.
The first push came in the European morning of October 8. After a low of $0.04797 in the 04:00 UTC hour, STRK rose 5.7% at 08:00 UTC, 8.5% at 09:00 UTC and 8.7% at 11:00 UTC, touching $0.06166. A dip at 12:00 UTC was bought, and in the 14:00 UTC hour STRK reached $0.0625, 30% above the morning low and its highest price since May.
Then the market turned. From 15:00 UTC, as bitcoin and US tech stocks sold off, STRK slipped hour after hour — never more than 3% at a time — down to $0.05466 in the 21:00 UTC hour. It closed the day at $0.05557, up 13.25%, on $32.1 million of volume, about four times its average, having given back more than half of its intraday gain.
The second leg is the part to watch. Starting at midnight, STRK rose in five consecutive hours: +4.6%, +3.2%, +7.6%, +3.8% and +2.1%, with volume building from $0.6 million to $5.2 million an hour. In the 04:00 UTC hour on October 9 it reached $0.07162, above the previous day's high and its highest price since January 25, 2026 — 31% above the evening low. A rally that holds half its gains through a broad selloff and then makes a new high is showing real demand; a rally that can't is usually just a spike.
