Solana Loses Its September Range: From $113 to $105.71 in Three Hours (October 2026)

On October 8, 2026, Solana slid quietly through the morning, then dropped from $112.50 to $105.71 between 15:00 and 17:30 UTC as US chip stocks and bitcoin sold off together. Relive the break fifteen minutes at a time.

Solana is one of the largest smart-contract blockchains, popular for trading and memecoins. After jumping from about $101 to $112 on September 18, 2026, SOL spent nearly three weeks in a range between roughly $112.50 and $125. On October 7 it fell 3.65% to $116.30, back into the lower half of that range.

The replay begins mid-morning on October 8, with SOL near $115. The decline was gradual at first: the 10:00, 11:00 and 12:00 UTC hours lost about 2.3% between them, on rising volume, and by 13:00 UTC SOL was at $111.21, just below the September 24 low of $112.52 that marked the bottom of the range. For the next two hours it held around $112.

The break came at 15:00 UTC, as US chip stocks slid and bitcoin dropped 2%. The 15:00 UTC fifteen-minute candle fell 1.4% and the 15:15 UTC candle another 1.9%, to $108.88, on $28.2 million — the heaviest fifteen minutes of the day. The hour as a whole lost 3.5% on $59.9 million. SOL kept slipping and reached $105.71 in the 17:15 UTC candle, its lowest price since September 18.

Watch what happened next. The 18:15 UTC candle bounced 1.3%, and SOL climbed steadily through the evening to $110.87 by 21:00 UTC, before closing the day at $109.62, down 5.74% and at its lowest close since September 17. The recovery took SOL back above $108 but not back into the old range: the former floor near $112.50 is now the first level above.
