Resolv Rises 33% Before Breakfast — Then Gives It All Back (October 2026)
On October 3, 2026, Resolv's RESOLV token rallied 33% in two hours, then fell 31% from the peak by mid-morning and closed the day lower. Relive a complete spike-and-fade fifteen minutes at a time.
Resolv is a DeFi protocol behind USR, a dollar-pegged token backed by crypto assets hedged with derivatives. Its governance token, RESOLV, has had a hard time since listing in June 2025: from a first-day high of about $0.43 it had fallen to roughly $0.02 by the autumn of 2026, often trading only a few hundred thousand dollars a day.
The move started just after 04:00 UTC on Saturday, October 3, when a burst of buying in the 04:15 candle pushed RESOLV briefly to $0.0216. Over the next two hours the buying intensified, and the 05:45 candle alone carried price from $0.0234 to $0.0263. The peak, $0.02707, came at 06:15 UTC — 33.5% above the previous day's close of $0.02027.
The unwind was almost as fast. RESOLV drifted sideways around $0.025 for ninety minutes, then broke down in the 08:15 candle, falling from $0.0244 to $0.0213 in fifteen minutes. By 09:45 UTC it had reached $0.01861, 31% below the peak and well under where the day began. It spent the rest of Saturday near $0.0195 and closed at $0.01976, down 2.5%, on $9.1 million of volume — about fifteen times its 30-day average.
This is the shape traders mean by a spike-and-fade: a sharp, low-liquidity rally with no follow-through, which leaves behind a long upper wick on the daily chart and a crowd of late buyers holding losses. In the replay, notice how the selling accelerates once price falls back below the level where the spike began — the point at which nearly everyone who bought the move is underwater.
