Origin Protocol Doubles in a Day: OGN's Four-Stage Climb From $0.022 to $0.053 (October 2026)
On October 8, 2026, Origin Protocol's OGN went from $0.0226 to a peak of $0.05345 in twelve hours and closed up 99.9% on about 63 times its usual volume. Relive a doubling that came in four separate bursts, then the overnight fade.
Origin Protocol builds decentralized-finance products, including yield-bearing tokens such as a liquid-staking version of ether. Its OGN token had been one of the market's quietest: through late September and early October 2026 it traded between about $0.019 and $0.026, and until October 5 usually on less than $500,000 of volume a day.
The first eight hours of October 8 were no different. OGN sat between $0.0225 and $0.0236, with as little as $60,000 traded in an hour. Then the 08:00 UTC hour jumped 17.6% to $0.02661 on $2.3 million. After a pause, the 10:00 UTC hour added 24.3% to $0.03383, the 11:00 UTC hour another 9.8%, and the 12:00 UTC hour 17.9% to $0.04392 — a near-doubling before the US market had even opened.
The afternoon brought the first real test. OGN fell 6.1% in the 15:00 UTC hour, to $0.0388, while bitcoin was selling off. Buyers returned quickly: the 17:00 UTC hour gained 16.9% on $6.8 million, the busiest hour of the day, and in the 20:00 UTC hour OGN peaked at $0.05345, its highest price since October 15, 2025. It closed the day at $0.04567, up 99.87%, on $56.2 million of volume.
Notice how the move built: four bursts, each followed by a pause or a pullback, with each pullback holding above the previous burst's starting point. That structure kept the rally going through a weak afternoon for the whole crypto market. The end of the replay shows the other side. After midnight, OGN dropped to $0.04031 in the 00:00 UTC hour and spent the early hours of October 9 between about $0.040 and $0.048 — still almost double the previous week's price, but around 22% below the peak.
