NEAR's 45-Minute Breakout: $5.33 to $5.90 on a $32 Million Candle (October 11, 2026)

On the afternoon of October 11, 2026, NEAR Protocol broke out of a quiet range and rose 11% in 45 minutes, three days after a sharp bearish reversal. Relive the breakout fifteen minutes at a time.

Three days before this replay, on October 8, NEAR Protocol had touched $5.595 — its highest price since January 2025 — and then fallen 23% in a single session, closing below the previous day's low. Many traders read that as a top. Over the next two days, NEAR rose 9.4% and 8.4%, recovering almost all of the loss.

The replay starts on the afternoon of Sunday, October 11, with NEAR in a tight range between about $5.31 and $5.37. Fifteen-minute candles trade around $1 million each, and nothing suggests a big move.

At 15:15 UTC, NEAR edges up 1.4% to $5.407. The 15:30 UTC candle adds 2.3% on $11.4 million, ten times the volume of the previous hour's candles, and breaks above the $5.50 area. Then the 15:45 UTC candle does the real work: +4.7%, from $5.53 to as high as $5.90, on $31.8 million, nearly three times the candle before it. In 45 minutes, the price rose about 11% and cleared the October 8 high.

Watch what happens after the spike. The 16:00 UTC candle gives back only 1.1%, and for the next two hours NEAR holds between about $5.71 and $5.85, on volume that settles back to $2-4 million per candle. A breakout that holds most of its gains after the first burst, rather than giving them back, is behaving very differently from the October 8 attempt. NEAR closed the day at $5.896, its highest close since January 6, 2025, and touched $6.00 early on October 12.
