Moonriver's Fivefold Run — and Its Worst Day on Record (Oct 2026)

Moonriver's MOVR token climbed from $0.90 to $3.34 in a week, then lost 35% in a single day on October 2, 2026. Relive the three-day surge and the collapse that followed, hour by hour.

Moonriver is an Ethereum-compatible smart-contract network on Kusama, the experimental sister network of Polkadot, and the older sibling of Moonbeam. Its MOVR token had a forgettable 2026: it hit a yearly low of $0.622 on August 27 and was still trading around $0.90 on September 24, often on less than $1 million of daily volume.

The run began on September 29, with a 30% gain to $1.253. September 30 was wilder: MOVR jumped from $1.58 to $2.06 between 07:00 and 09:00 UTC, gave almost all of it back by mid-afternoon, then surged again in the evening to close at $2.177, up 74%. On October 1 it added another 33.5%, peaking at $3.34 in the 16:00 UTC hour on $96.7 million of daily volume — the busiest day for MOVR on Binance since November 2024.

The collapse came without a pause. MOVR started October 2 near $2.91, slid through the Asian session, and in the 05:00 UTC hour alone fell from $2.635 to $2.075. A rebound to $2.48 faded, and by the end of the day it had reached $1.852 before closing at $1.885 — down 35.1%, the worst daily drop in its Binance trading history, which goes back to November 2021.

Watch two things in the replay. First, how the candles widen as the rally matures: by October 1, single hours were swinging 15% or more, a sign that liquidity rather than conviction was setting the price. Second, how little support the breakout levels offered on the way down — the $2.20-2.40 zone that had been crossed in a matter of hours on September 30 gave way just as quickly on October 2.
