Litecoin's 45% Climb and Its $150 Million Day (September 2026)
Litecoin spent early September stuck near $50. Between September 17 and 26, 2026, it rose about 45% to $75, including a single 16% day on more than twice the volume of any other day that month.
Litecoin rarely makes headlines anymore. One of the oldest cryptocurrencies, it spent the first half of September 2026 in a narrow range, mostly between $50 and $55, and closed September 16 at $51.69. The rally that followed built in steps: a 7.8% gain on September 18 to $58.15, then a push above $62 on September 21.
September 24 was the day that changed the chart. LTC jumped about 6% in the 02:00 UTC hour, from $62 to almost $66, and kept grinding higher into the European morning. The bigger move came in the US session: in the 13:00 and 14:00 UTC hours it went from about $67 to a high of $74.77, on roughly $14.5 million and $23.4 million of volume. LTC closed the day at $71.95, up 16.3%, on about $150 million of daily Binance volume — more than double any other day in September.
Two days later, on September 26, Litecoin reached $75.00, about 45% above its September 16 close. Then the momentum stalled. Over the following four days LTC drifted back to a low of $65.63 on September 30, retracing a little under 40% of the advance — a fairly typical give-back after a vertical move, and one that left the breakout above the old $55 ceiling intact.
In the replay, compare the two halves of September 24: the overnight jump on modest volume, and the afternoon surge on several times as much. The second one is what turned a good day into a breakout.
