Caldera's 30-Minute Spike: ERA +68%, Then −24% in the Next Candle (October 2026)
On October 10, 2026, Caldera's ERA token rose from $0.068 to $0.1137 in two fifteen-minute candles, then lost a quarter of its value in the third. Relive a spike that was rejected almost as soon as it happened.
Caldera is a company that helps projects launch their own rollups, the networks built on top of Ethereum to make transactions cheaper. Its ERA token had traded between about $0.060 and $0.072 since late September, with one brief spike to $0.0795 on October 8 that faded the same day.
Early on October 10, ERA was as quiet as it had been all week, with fifteen-minute candles trading around $50,000. The 08:00 UTC candle edged up 2.7% to $0.0694. Then the 08:15 UTC candle jumped 17.9% to $0.0818 on $1.5 million, and the 08:30 UTC candle added 36.1% on $2.8 million, reaching $0.1137 — 68% above the 08:00 UTC price in just thirty minutes.
The 08:45 UTC candle erased most of it. It opened at $0.1112, near the top, and fell 24.1% to $0.0843 on $2.6 million, almost as much volume as the candle that made the high. Within an hour ERA was below $0.080, and it spent the rest of the morning in a $0.078-$0.090 band. It closed the day at $0.0782, up 19.94% but 31% below the high, on volume about 22 times its average.
This is a textbook rejected spike: the high was reached in a single candle and never revisited, and the selling candle that followed had nearly the same volume as the buying candle before it. That symmetry tells you that a large group of sellers was waiting at higher prices. Compare it with the Lumia replay from the same weekend, where a second spike broke above the first one; here, the first spike's high became a ceiling.
