Zcash Has Gone From $250 to Nearly $1,700 in Under Four Months

ZEC set its 2026 low of $250.12 in the June 5 sell-off. On Saturday it touched $1,698, and on September 23 it traded more on Binance than Solana did.

On June 5, in the middle of a broad crypto sell-off, Zcash touched $250.12 on Binance after losing more than 60% in about two days. On Saturday, September 26, it reached $1,698 — close to seven times that low, in a little under four months. Measured from the June 5 close rather than the intraday low, ZEC is up about 300%, the best performance among the coins we track over that period, just ahead of Uniswap at 277%.

The climb was anything but steady. Through June and July, ZEC recovered into a range of roughly $390-$575 and then stalled; in mid-August it was still below $500. The acceleration began around August 20. From a close of $488 on August 15, it more than tripled in six weeks, closing at $1,653 on Saturday. It has since eased to about $1,555.

What sets this rally apart from many small-coin surges is the money behind it. Over the past ten days, ZEC's spot market on Binance has traded between about $245 million and $653 million a day. The $653 million on September 23 was more than Solana's $421 million that day and not far short of Ether's $898 million. This is not a thin order book being pushed around.

It is, however, a market that swings hard. On seven of the past ten days, ZEC's range from high to low exceeded 8%; on September 23 it traded between $1,476 and $1,680, a spread of nearly 14%. And the low that started all of this is a reminder of how the same volatility works in reverse: the June crash took Zcash from $644 to $250 in about 55 hours.
