Solana's Network Activity Is Quietly Outpacing Ethereum's Again

Daily transaction counts on Solana have pulled ahead of Ethereum's for a second straight month — though the two numbers measure meaningfully different things.

Solana's network has processed more daily transactions than Ethereum's base layer for a second consecutive month, a gap that's been building gradually rather than appearing as a sudden spike.

The comparison comes with an important asterisk, though: Solana's architecture is built around cheap, high-frequency transactions by design, which naturally produces a higher raw transaction count than a network like Ethereum, where a meaningful share of equivalent activity now happens on Layer-2 networks that don't count toward Ethereum's own base-layer transaction total. Comparing the two raw numbers directly overstates the actual gap in real usage.

Even accounting for that, the trend itself is genuine and worth tracking: Solana has captured a real and growing share of activity in categories like decentralized exchange trading and consumer-facing apps, not purely because of lower fees but because the network's throughput lets those applications feel closer to a traditional app than earlier blockchain infrastructure typically allowed.

Testing both networks' actual assets side by side — rather than picking a side based on a single headline transaction-count comparison — is available right on Trade2Spike's crypto markets.
