Four Days After Its Bearish Reversal, NEAR Touched $6 — Its Highest Price Since January 2025
NEAR rose 11.35% on October 11 to $5.896, its highest close since January 6, 2025, and reached $6.00 early on October 12. A single fifteen-minute candle traded $31.8 million.
Last Thursday, NEAR Protocol looked like it had topped. It hit $5.595, fell 23% the same day and closed below the previous day's low. By Sunday, October 11, it had erased that move completely and broken out.
Most of Sunday was quiet, with NEAR trading between about $5.30 and $5.40 through the early afternoon. Then, in a span of 45 minutes starting at 15:15 UTC, it went from $5.33 to $5.90. The 15:30 UTC fifteen-minute candle rose 2.3% on $11.4 million, and the 15:45 UTC candle added 4.7% on $31.8 million — more than many full days for smaller tokens. NEAR held most of the gain into the evening and closed at $5.896, up 11.35%, its highest close since January 6, 2025.
The push continued overnight. In the 04:00 UTC hour on Monday, October 12, NEAR touched exactly $6.00 — its highest price since January 7, 2025 — before easing to about $5.84. From Thursday's low of $4.301, that's a 40% rebound in four days.
The broader market was calmer. Bitcoin rose 0.95% on Sunday to $83,773, its highest close since October 6, and ether gained 1.21% to $2,536.94. NEAR's rebound is a reminder that a bearish reversal pattern describes one day's battle, not the war: when the trend behind it is strong — NEAR had nearly tripled since early September — a failed reversal can become the launch point for the next leg.
