LayerZero Is Back Above $2 — and This Time the Volume Came With It

ZRO closed October 3 at $1.993 after trading as high as $2.146, its highest close since April 13, on its heaviest Binance volume since February. The token has doubled since September 15.

LayerZero's ZRO token has had a quietly remarkable few weeks. On September 15 it closed at $0.995. On October 3 it closed at $1.993, almost exactly double, and during the day it traded as high as $2.146 — its highest price since late March. Unlike many of this autumn's small-cap rallies, ZRO didn't get there in one explosive candle. It got there in steps.

The first attempt at $2 failed. On October 2, ZRO climbed to $2.003 in the 14:00 UTC hour and then reversed hard: the 17:00 and 18:00 UTC hours traded about $7 million combined as price fell to $1.725, a 14% drop from the high in four hours. It closed that day at $1.746, down 3.2%. Anyone watching the chart that evening would have seen a textbook rejection at a round number.

Saturday reversed the reversal. After a flat night near $1.75, buying started in the 08:00 UTC hour, which took ZRO from $1.737 to $1.875 on about $1.5 million of volume. By 11:00 UTC it had closed an hour at exactly $2.00, and it held above that level for most of the rest of the day, setting its high at 19:00 UTC. The daily close of $1.993, up 14.2%, came on $36.4 million of volume — about 3.4 times its 30-day average and the busiest session since February 12.

Context keeps the move in proportion. ZRO's 2026 low was $0.706 on July 31, so it has now risen about 2.8 times from the bottom; it is up roughly 62% from its 2025 close of $1.227; and it remains about 74% below its December 2024 peak of $7.57. The next obvious reference is this year's high of $2.59, set on February 11. For now, the more useful signal is simpler: the second test of $2 drew more volume than the first, and early on October 4 the token was holding just above it, near $2.05.
