Last Week's Breakout Tokens Are Giving It Back: Wormhole Fell 42% From Its Peak

Wormhole's W touched $0.0318 on October 12, then fell to $0.0183 by early October 13. Nervos lost 23%, Lumia 17%, Conflux 15%, Kaia 13% and Treasure's MAGIC 13% on the same day.

A week ago, a string of small and mid-sized tokens broke out to their highest levels in months. Monday, October 12 showed how quickly those moves can reverse when the broader market turns.

Wormhole's W was the most dramatic case. After an 83% run from Sunday's low, it made a final high of $0.03175 in the 09:00 UTC hour on Monday — its highest price since January 21 — and then fell in steps of 7-9% an hour through the European and US sessions. It closed at $0.01893, down 14.11% for the day, and reached $0.01833 early on Tuesday, 42% below the peak in less than 18 hours. Volume was $57.5 million, about 16 times its average, as heavy on the way down as on the way up.

The rest of last week's list followed. Nervos's CKB fell 23.03%, Lumia 17.13%, Conflux 14.82%, Kaia 13.08% and Treasure's MAGIC 13.44%, while Sonic slipped 7.22%. In most cases, the drop took the token back to, or below, the price where its breakout began.

For readers following our signals: the bearish Wormhole setup published on October 12 reached its target of $0.022-$0.023 within hours and kept going; the bearish setup on Kaia, published on October 10, has also played out, with KAIA now below the $0.051-$0.053 area. The broader lesson is about timing — in a market driven by fast rotations, the days right after a breakout have often been the most dangerous time to buy.
