Internet Computer Quietly Broke Out to Its Highest Since January

Overshadowed by louder moves, ICP rose 9.7% on Tuesday on double its usual volume, clearing a range it had traded in for over a week.

Not every breakout is loud. Internet Computer spent most of the second half of September grinding inside a narrow band between roughly $3.02 and $3.20. On Tuesday, September 29, it broke out of it, rising 9.7% and touching $3.554 intraday — its highest level since January — before settling around $3.44. Volume roughly doubled to about $30 million, the confirmation a range breakout is supposed to carry.

The move stands out mostly for its context. It came on a broadly red day, alongside Aave's larger jump, while most large coins fell. A clean break above a well-defined range, on expanding volume, with the asset moving against its peers, is close to the ideal version of the pattern — which is exactly why the follow-through matters more than the breakout itself. The level to watch now is the old range ceiling near $3.20: a breakout that holds tends to turn its old resistance into support, while one that slips back inside the range is the more common outcome and the reason experienced traders wait for the retest rather than chasing the first candle.
