The Euro Slips to Its Lowest Level Against the Dollar Since Late June

EUR/USD touched 1.1362 on September 24, its weakest intraday reading since June 25, and is now about 2% below the 1.16 area where it spent the first half of September.

EUR/USD spent the first half of September close to 1.16, with daily closes between about 1.159 and 1.163. It has been drifting lower since: 1.1502 at the close on Friday, September 18, then 1.1449, 1.1382 and 1.1377 over the following sessions, with an intraday low of 1.1362 on September 24. That is the pair's lowest intraday level since June 25 and its weakest daily close in two months.

The move is less about the euro than about the dollar, which has been rebuilding since its attempt to stabilise after a multi-month low. So far the pattern has been a steady grind rather than a single shock — the largest weekday decline in the sequence was about 0.6%.

A data note: the figures here come from Binance's EUR/USDT pair, which tracks the spot rate closely on weekdays but trades through the weekend on much thinner liquidity. Over September 20-21 it briefly printed a spike to 1.17 that reversed within hours — the kind of venue-specific move that is best ignored when reading the trend.

For traders, the level to watch is the late-June area near 1.135. A break below it would take EUR/USD to levels not seen since early summer; a bounce from it would keep the pair inside the roughly 1.137-1.18 range of daily closes it has held since late June. Currency pairs tend to trend more quietly than crypto, so a 2% week is a meaningful move in this market, even if it would barely register on a Bitcoin chart.
