Bitcoin Won Back Two-Thirds of Monday's Drop; Uniswap and Injective Led the Large Caps

Bitcoin rose 1.61% to $83,169 on October 13 after touching $81,034, and ether gained 2.08% to $2,497.95. Uniswap climbed 8.15% and Injective 11.05%, the strongest moves among larger tokens.

After a slow slide on October 12, the largest cryptocurrencies spent October 13 recovering most of it.

Bitcoin dipped to $81,033.66 in the first hours of the day and then climbed steadily to close at $83,169, up 1.61%. Monday's fall had taken it from about $83,780 to $81,850, so Tuesday recovered roughly two-thirds of that loss. The day's high was $84,168, just short of Monday's peak of $84,352. Volume on Binance was about $1.23 billion, in line with its recent average — a recovery without much urgency.

Ether followed a similar path. It touched $2,409.09, close to the $2,406-$2,410 area it has now tested several times, and closed up 2.08% at $2,497.95. Solana rose 1.01% to $106.83, XRP 1.78% to $1.3661 and Dogecoin 2.63%.

The stronger moves were further down the list. Uniswap's UNI gained 8.15% to $7.541 and Injective's INJ 11.05% to $8.112, its highest close since October 6. Both are older decentralised finance tokens, and they rose alongside a rebound in layer-2 tokens such as Optimism, which gained 21%.

The next test comes from outside crypto. The September CPI report, due at 8:30 a.m. Eastern time on October 14, will shape expectations for the Fed's October 28 decision, and bitcoin has tended to move with interest-rate expectations as much as with crypto-specific news. A close back above Monday's $84,352 high would show the recovery has momentum; another trip toward $81,000 would retest Tuesday's low.
